SHARON, Pa. - John B. Myers Sr., 82, 1299 Hall Ave., died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness.
John was born March, 23, 1930, in Masury, the son of George and Philomena Simeon Myers.
Mr. Myers owned and operated Myers Garage in Masury and served with the Ohio National Guard during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Alice T. Farringer; a daughter, Denise G. Myers Hunt of Masury; three sons, John B. Jr. of Hermitage, Pa., Joseph P. of Sharon and David W. Sr. of West Salem Township; two sisters, Mary Marie Michael of Burghill and Minnie Belle Porterfield of Hermitage, Pa.; two brothers, Frank of Burghill and George of Masury, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
In keeping with John's wishes, there will be no calling hours. His family is planning a memorial service to be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. in Sharon.
