CHAMPION - Patrick T. O'Shaughnessy, 75, passed away at 12:11 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at University Hospital.
He was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Cleveland, the son of Patrick D. O'Shaughnessy and Lillian O'Shaughnessy.
Pat was a 1956 graduate of Cleveland St. Michael and came to Champion in 1971. He retired in 2001 as an agent from New York Life and previously worked for Prudential and National Castings.
Pat had many interests, but his passion was his family. He enjoyed participating in the lives of his children and grandchildren. Pat loved telling stories of his upbringing and the life he shared with his wife, Mary Jane. He was also an avid Notre Dame football fan and a U.S. Army veteran.
On Aug. 21, 1965, Pat married Mary Jane O'Shaughnessy, who passed away July 20, 2004.
Survivors include his children, Patrick J. (Priti) O'Shaughnessy of Los Angeles, Michael (Shyan) O'Shaughnessy of Minneapolis, Kathleen (Greg) Bronson of Howland, Dan (Denise) O'Shaughnessy of Champion and Theresa "Terri" O'Shaughnessy of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Lisa O'Shaughnessy of Minneapolis; nine grandchildren, Erin, Emily, Elizabeth, Bryan, Jack, Kira, Benjamin, Jane and Dakota; and a brother, Dan "Lefty" O'Shaughnessy of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Jimmy O'Shaughnessy; and a sister, Katie Rodgers.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, and 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. William Church in Champion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Carl Kish officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
