WARREN - A 21-year-old Niles man remained in Trumbull County Jail after pleading not guilty today to charges of attempted murder and felonious assault in connection with an attack on another man, whose throat was slashed in November.

James Egner of North Cedar Street was being held on $100,000 bond, pending a pre-trial Jan. 31 before Common Pleas Judge Ronald Rice. If convicted, he could receive up to 11 years behind bars on the attempted murder charge.

Assistant county prosecutor Michael Burnett said Egner is accused of confronting another Niles man, Zachary Travis, inside the Hole-in-the-Wall, a private club on East Park Avenue Nov. 16.
