YMCA to host open house

YMCA TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE: The Trumbull County YMCA, 210 High St. N.W., will hold an open house for the public from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The public will be able to see the different programs and tour the complex which has had remodeling and other work done in the past year.

PENGUIN PARTY FOR CHILDREN: The Cortland Library Branch, 578 Lakeview Drive, will hold a Penguin Party at 5 p.m. Thursday. The event will include a special story, a craft and games. Those attending are asked to dress in black and white. The program is for children ages 4 to 8. Registration is required by calling 330-299-8120.

SCOPE HOSTS CHILI CHALLENGE: The Lordstown SCOPE Center is hosting a chili challenge at 5 p.m. Friday at the center, 1776 Salt Springs Road. Entry to the event is through the back of the building. Judges are the Lordstown mayor and police chief and their wives. Cash prizes will be awarded. The event is open to the public. For more information, call 330-824-2173.

STARDUST BALL TO HELP RELAY: The 16th annual Stardust Ball will be held from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at St Demetrios Community Center, 3223 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren. The event includes dinner and dance with music provided by the Top Notes beginning at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are required at 330-841-7337. Proceeds benefit Relay for Life for Vlad Pediatrics.

SCHOOL TO TAKE PART IN WEEK EVENTS: St. Stephen School in Niles will mark Catholic Schools Week with an open house from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the school. There will be a book fair, tours and other activities.
