WARREN - Elizabeth C. "Betty" Muir, 101, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 20, 2013, at Select Speciality Hospital in Warren.
Betty was born Oct. 29, 1911, in West Mead Township, Crawford County, Pa., the daughter of the late Ray Edward and Ethel May Butler Hanes.
She retired as a clerk from GC Murphy in 1986 and then worked for Anderson Florist.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Titusville and a lifetime member of the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
She belonged to the AARP, the Happy Wanderers Club and the Twin States Auto Racing Club - attending Sprint car races and NASCAR in Charlotte, N.C., and Bristol, Tenn.
She enjoyed traveling, auto racing, crafts, flower arranging, sewing, crocheting and gardening.
Her husbands, Clarence L. Harris and Harold J. Muir, both preceded Betty in death.
Betty will be sadly missed by her children, Richard J. (Roberta) Harris of Bristolville and Joyce E. (Eugene) Leamer of Lordstown; one sister, Ardelle Hutchison of Titusville, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Judy VanCise of Titusville, Pa.; and several other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two sons, Robert L. Harris and Darwin J. Muir, one sister, four brothers and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel.
Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until noon Thursday at the funeral home.
