MINERAL RIDGE - Norman Jonathan Husted, 61, passed away peacefully on Jan. 15, 2013, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 29, 1951, in Youngstown, the son of Harold and Miriam Stewart Husted.
Norman was a 1969 graduate of Columbiana High School and a pressman for the Youngstown Vindicator.
He was an avid Browns and Indians fan and enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Norm treasured special family memories vacationing in Myrtle Beach, playing cornhole and gardening with his beloved grandson Ethan, who was the light of his "Poppy's" life.
Norm will always be remembered as a kind, generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend as well as being a cancer survivor.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Lisa Kaufman Husted, whom he married May 28, 1983; two sons, Jonathan of Canfield and Kevin of Mineral Ridge; and his stepmother, Emily Husted. Also surviving are his brother, Robert of Kentucky, and his sister, Nancy Wyen, of Washington. His extended family includes mother-in-law Joan (Harlan) Lewis, sisters-in-law Linda Rhodes and Laura Merriam, and brother-in-law Fred Rhodes.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel, where there will be a memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday.
In honor of Norm's devotion to his son Kevin, the family requests donations be made to Children's Rehabilitation Center, 885 Howland Wilson Road N.E., Warren, OH 44484.
