WARREN - Margaret Elizabeth Askey, 91, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.
The daughter of Byron and Lucille O'Conner Burtless, Margaret was born Nov. 21, 1921, in Geneva, N.Y.
On Dec. 8, 1945, she married John Askey, with whom she spent 60 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2005.
She worked as a bus driver for Howland Schools and enjoyed her time spent with the children as she took them to and from the school.
She was an avid bowler and played in leagues with her husband for many years.
She was also active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Champion and enjoyed researching genealogy for the church.
Margaret will be sadly missed by her two sons, Darrell (Lynea) Askey of St. George, Utah, and Doug (Elaine) Askey of Lordstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John.
Friends and family may call from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel. A funeral service will take place at 6 p.m. immediately after the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Margaret's name to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
