MARYVILLE, Tenn. - Robert Carl Clevinger, 69, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Blount Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 6, 1943, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of Carl and Mary Hull Clevinger.
He was an enthusiastic fan of auto and motorcycle racing, traveling to more than 3,500 events across the U.S. and attending several races in Australia. He had a very outgoing personality and sense of humor that everyone enjoyed. He attended Cortland High School and Ohio University and served two years as a medical instructor in the U.S. Army. He volunteered for 10 years at Help Hotline CONTACT Trumbull County.
Survivors include his wife, Liz Sterchak Clevinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents of Bazetta.
Liz really appreciates the care from Dr. Thomas Kubota and his nursing staff, the nurses at Blount Memorial Hospital Floor 5E, the critical care units and Blount Memorial Home Health.
Family services will be held at a later date in West Virginia.
