DEAR EDITOR:
I have a complaint. Why don't some companies want to hire people who are handicapped with speech problems like myself? The companies are so afraid they will lose people who shop there because people like me who have a speech problem try to help the customers.
Some of them say, "Keep away from me. You're dumb.'' That really hurts.
I've had two good jobs. In one of those jobs, in 2001, I was fired because my boss said that I picked on the customers. I was being nice to them. Then in 2003, I got a job and left in 2007 because of no hours. When I do my walking in the mall, I see teens get hired.
