MECCA - Robert R. Richman, 76, of Mecca, died Thursday morning, Jan. 3, 2013, in the emergency room at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 5, 1936, in Bristolville, the son of the late Howard and Nina Shaffer Richman.
Bob served as a sergeant in the Army from 1959 until 1962.
He retired after 33 years service from Reese Tool and Supply, where he worked first as a welder and then as a truck driver.
Bob was an active member of the Cortland Moose Lodge 1012 in Mecca. He enjoyed motorcycling and rode his Honda bike with the sidecar all year long.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda S. Jones Richman, whom he married Oct. 25, 1969; one son, Randy R. Richman of Brookfield; one brother, Harold (Martha) Richman of Bristolville; and two sisters, Violet (Richard) Grove of Mecca and Rose Steinhouser of Cortland. He also loved his dog, Joey.
The memorial gathering and service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. before the service Tuesday. Per Bob's wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cortland Moose Lodge, 6400 state Route 46 N.E., Cortland, OH 44410, or the Cortland Area Cares food bank, 115-B Pearl St., Cortland, OH 44410.
