WARREN - Police found the car they believed was involved in a hit-skip accident early New Year's Day that severely injured a man.
A police spokeswoman said the car was found abandoned at a vacant York Street home about 5:15 p.m. today. A neighbor called 911 about the abandoned car, the spokeswoman said.
Officers towed the car and it will be held to be processed for evidence, possibly over the weekend, the spokeswoman said.
Harold Rice, 46, was hit by a car as he was riding his bicycle at Tod Avenue and Summit Street about 2:50 a.m. Tuesday and the car sped away. He is in the hospital being treated for his injuries.
Police had a license plate and a description of the vehicle they were looking for but were not able to find it until Friday.
