WARREN - William J. Marcheskie, 82, entered peacefully into rest at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his daughter's residence following a lengthy illness.
William was born July 22, 1930, in Shamokin, Pa., the son of the late Martin F. and Mary E. Berran Marcheskie.
He was a resident of Newton Falls and the Warren area since 1957, moving here from Tamaqua, Pa. He was a graduate of St. Edward's High School in Shamokin, Pa., class of 1949 and was employed with the American Welding Corporation as a tool room attendant for 34 years, retiring from his duties in 1991. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton Falls and later St. Robert's Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland. William also had served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
On Oct. 5, 1956, William was united into marriage with the former Dorothy A. Sembach Marcheskie and had shared 56 loving years together.
His memories will be remembered and cherished by those he leaves behind, his wife; a son, Lee W. Marcheskie of Longwood, Fla.; a daughter, Dr. Toni ( Rich-ard Duke Harbison) Marcheskie of Cortland; a brother, Kenneth Marcheskie of Wilmington, Del.; a sister, Louise Marcheskie of Wilmington, Del.; and grandchildren, Michael, Mark and Rachel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl, Edward and Robert Marcheski; and a sister, Mary Hancock.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Robert's Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren and also one hour prior to the services at the church Wednesday. Officiating will be the Rev. Carl G. Kish.
