GIRARD - Peter Andre Barta, 68, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Peter was born Sept. 20, 1944, in Youngstown, the son of the late Peter J. and Suzanne Kaputa Barta.
Peter was a 1962 graduate of Chaney High School and would go on to marry Barbara Morgan Barta on Oct. 26, 1968. Together they would share more than 44 years of marriage and the love of their four children, Peter, David, Richard and Adam.

Peter was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and an employee of General Motors, from which he retired in 2006.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family.
A loving and devoted father and grandfather, Peter was also a longtime member of St. Rose Church in Girard.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Barbara; sons, Peter T. Barta of Girard, David Barta of Canfield, Richard Barta of Niles and Adam (Marci) Barta of Girard; a sister, Theresa Deniro of Austintown; and two grandchildren, Logan and Blake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Babsie Barta; and a niece, Pamela Cougras.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to MVI Hospice Care at 4891 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH 44505.
A memorial service will be held at St. Rose Church in Girard at 2 p.m. Jan. 19.
Arrangements were handled by McClurkin Funeral Home.
