LIBERTY - Edward J. Tock, 79, died at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Hospice House in Poland following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 10, 1933, in the family home on Hyde Street in Niles, the son of James E. and Hazel E. Round Tock.
He attended and graduated from St. Stephen School, Niles McKinley High School in 1951 and studied at Youngstown State University.

Ed was a proud member of Carpenters, Millwright and Piledrivers Union for 63 years. He belonged to the Niles Local; Warren Local 1438, where he was treasurer and business agent; Cleveland Local 1871 as a business representative covering 11 counties; and a member of CMT Retirees. He retired in 1995.
He also was a member of the Niles Knights of Columbus, Jaycees, and the Vienna Fish and Game Club.
He attended St. Stephen Church, where he received the sacraments, attended Mass at the Our Lady of Lebanon Shrine and was a charter member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Vienna.
He enjoyed walking at the Eastwood Mall and meeting with other mall walkers. He collected and documented the family history. He was proud of his children and grandchildren, especially when they caught their first fish.
Edward is survived by his wife, Marian "Frances" Kozlowski Tock, whom he married on Sept. 15, 1956, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers; six children, Jennifer Tock of Reynoldsburg, James F. (Sheere) Tock of Louisville, Ky., Christopher Tock of Hilliard, Rebecca "Beky" (William) Davis of Austintown, Lawrence (Nancy) Tock of Terre Haute, Ind., and Kenneth (Michele) Tock of Syracuse, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a brother, Richard (Jane) Tock of Niles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Margaret "Peg" Boyle and Sarah "Sally" Leonard.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen Church.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
