Autism benefit set for Thursday

BENEFIT TO HELP ADULTS WITH AUTISM: The Mikeyfied Fund for Adult Autism will present "A Night of 783 1/2 Laughs" at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Reef, 5000 E. Market St., Warren. The event will help benefit "The Mikeyfied Fund," a new local charity started by Mauro and Beverly DiVieste, who are parents of a non-verbal autistic son, Michael. The fund is used to create housing and care for autistic individuals who do become mainstreamed into the world as adults. The event will include stand-up comedy show featuring local comics. The DiViestes will have their children's books available for sale with proceeds from the sale to benefit the charity. Donations will also be accepted for the 50-50 raffle. LIBRARY HOST GAME EVENT: The Howland Library Branch, 9095 E. Market St., will hold a "Get your Game on" from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday providing activities, such as board games for children of all ages.

PROGRAM HELPS PEOPLE WITH GED: For those ages 18 to 22 who have dropped out of high school, there is a chance to drop back in with the Drop Back In Center, 3217 Surrey Road, Warren.
