WARREN Dale A. Hatch, accused of murdering Marco Dukes in what police describe as a ``major gun battle'' near downtown Warren, is scheduled to be in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court this morning for a pretrial.
The last time he was in court police beefed up security in and around the Trumbull County Courthouse.
Hatch, 25, of Detroit, is being held in Trumbull County Jail on $2.5 million bond. He and Derrick Peete are charged with aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder and felonious assault, all with firearm specifications. Hatch faces additional charges of tampering with evidence and receiving stolen property.
More than 50 shots were fired around 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11, killing Dukes at 156 Elm Road and wounding his cousin, Larry Smith. The battle spilled onto a nearby alley, caused a local church to lock in worshippers and had a woman and her young daughter transport a bloody Smith to Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
