Tribune Chronicle |

YOUNGSTOWN Police arrested a man who they say reached into a car at St. Elizabeth Health Center Wednesday afternoon and punched a plainclothes police officer.

Reports state Donald E. Fleming, 53, 1044 Belmont Ave., was in the parking lot of St. Elizabeth Health Center and walked in front of a car driven by Chief of Detectives Capt. Mark Milstead. Milstead and Detective Sgt. Ron Rodway, who was also in the car, were at the hospital to interview a stabbing victim.

Reports state Fleming told Milstead to get out of the way and when Milstead said something to him he reached inside the car and punched him.

Milstead and Rodway and a uniformed officer tried to arrest Fleming but he resisted arrest and had to be tackled, reports state. He was booked into the Mahoning County Jail for the charges of assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest.
