U.S. Rep. Timothy J. Ryan has been reappointed to the powerful House Appropriations Committee, his office announced today.
The committee has jurisdiction over more than $1 trillion in 2013.
Ryan served on the committee from December 2006 until January 2011. He lost the seat after the 2010 midterm election losses led to a reduction in the number of positions for Democrats on the committee.
Ryan, who called the appointment a "huge honor," said he would use the position to help take communities in the district "to the next level" and make sure citizens that "work hard and play by the rules" have the chance to have a high quality of life.
