CLEVELAND - The woman killed by her estranged husband Sunday in an employee parking lot at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport has been identified as a former Salem resident.
Kimberly Alkahder of Strongsville was shot and killed at around 11:30 a.m. The 20-year-old, whose maiden name was Court, attended high school in both Salem and Alliance, according to her Facebook page.
Police say 28-year-old Ahmad Alkahder fatally shot his estranged wife - a Transportation Security Administration officer - before killing himself.
The wife and a second TSA employee were commuting to work. Police say Ahmad Alkahder apparently followed her to the off-site lot, blocked her in her car with his vehicle and began firing.
Police say he fired at the other TSA agent but missed.
The shooting occurred at a lot north of the airport.
