Mary F. Gilbert 1952-2012

CHAMPION - Mary F. Gilbert, 60, died of cancer at 12:28 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Hospice House of Poland, surrounded by her family.

She was born Oct. 11, 1952, in Warren, the daughter of the late Gerald and Nancy VanOrsdal Buschagen.

Mary was a 1970 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School. She also was a customer service representative for Sprint United Telephone for 31 years. She also worked as the office manager for Nordlie in Newton Falls for 10 years.

Some of Mrs. Gilbert's hobbies included shopping, crafts and traveling. She also loved sports, especially the Cleveland Browns and Indians and NASCAR. She also enjoyed going to all of her son's activities, especially when he ran track and played soccer.

Survivors include her husband, Harold L. Gilbert, whom she married March 26, 1976; her only son, Todd (Maren) Gilbert of Twinsburg; one granddaughter, Tegan Gilbert; her stepmother, Alice Buschagen of Sarasota, Fla.; and her brother, William (Chris) Buschagen of Leavittsburg.

All services and calling hours were private and arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Oaks celebrated Mary's life.

Burial will be at Champion Township Cemetery.
