WARREN - Avanell C. "Avi" Tomlin, 92, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Windsor House at Champion.
She was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Ringgold, Pa., the daughter of Clyde and Jerusha Holben.
Avanell was a graduate of Niles High School and received an associate's degree in business from the Warren Business College.
She retired from Trumbull Memorial Hospital as a transcriber after 14 years and previously worked as a secretary for the Shamrock Club.
She enjoyed soap operas on TV, entertaining her family and attending her grandchildren's events.
Avanell is survived by three children, Kathleen "Kathy" (Jim) Pace of Liberty, Colleen (John) Janis of Dove Canyon, Calif., and Pamela Chapin of Warren; and four grandchildren, Major Courtney (Jennifer) Holland of Georgia, attorney Stephanie Pace (Corey) Prologo of Geneva, Switzerland, Jennifer Pace of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Joanna Chapin (Rod) Bengston of Honolulu.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry R. Tomlin, who passed away March 14, 1999; and two brothers, Gordon and Harold Holben.
Family and friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Tom Babamkek officiating.
Burial will be at Pineview Memorial Park, Warren.
