NEWTON FALLS - Dorothy Lucille Brooks, 84, entered peacefully into rest at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at her residence and with her loving family at her side.
Dorothy was born March 25, 1928, in Cecil, the daughter of the late Emory Jacob Shaffer and Audra Celestia Layman Shaffer and resided most of her life in Newton Falls since childhood.
She was a graduate of Chalker High School in Southington and was employed with the Packard Electric Corp. for 30 years in the stationary board department. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Newton Falls and enjoyed traveling and crocheting.

Her memories will be remembered and cherished by those she dearly leaves behind, her sons, Gary (Pam) Brooks of Georgetown, Ky., David (Janet) Brooks of Oklahoma City and Dennis (SuAnn) Brooks of Brookfield; daughters, Diane Brooks of Newton Falls and Cheryl (Randall) Bucy of Columbus; a brother, Richard Shaffer of Houston; a sister, Lois Potter of Warren; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Brooks; a sister, Margaret Predgo; and a grandson, Jason.
Private family services will be held, and there will be no visitation.
