WARREN - Five dead dogs and four dead kittens were removed today from the Warren home of Tiffany Charlton this morning by the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.

Debbie Agostinelli, of the Animal Welfare League, described the scene as "pretty grim," saying when she are others from the league came out to the house in the morning, they found the dead dogs inside the house on couches and found the dead kittens in a crate outside.

Agostinelli said the next steps will be examinations of the animals to determine their cause of death, followed by legal actions which she said she would like to file for each animal found. According to Agostinelli, the maximum punishment by law for the animal cruelty is $750 fine and 90 days in jail.

This is not the first time Charlton has been involved with animal abuse allegations. She was given until Sept. 28 to reduce the number of dogs in her house, which had been eleven, down the the legally allowed maximum of four by the Warren Deputy Health Commissioner.

Animal Welfare League also removed one dog that was alive from the house for assessment. Charlton was not at home to comment and according to her neighbor has not been answering any phone calls.
