AKRON - A man who gave what prosecutors term "insufficient testimony" during a trial for members of one of Youngstown's largest street gangs earlier this year received a three-year prison sentence today for a charge of perjury.
Marquise J. Wilkins, 24, was sentenced after testifying in June that he did not have a conversation with a member of the South Side based LSP street gang when he told a federal grand jury in November of 2011 that he did have the conversation.
A news release from U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio Steven M. Dettelbach also states he gave contradictory statements about feuds that LSP was having with other gangs.
