WARREN - Cathryn Ann Berletich, 98, entered into eternal life early afternoon Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at her residence.
Cathryn was born March 12, 1914, in Pittsburgh, the oldest of nine children to Marko and Mara Stokan Berletich.
Cathryn's family moved to Alliance, where Cathryn finished grade school and graduated from Alliance High School in the class of 1932
In the 1950s, Cathryn was employed at Ravenna Arsenal for five years as an inspector on the artillery primer line, beginning with the Korean Conflict. While in Newton Falls, Cathryn was an active member of St. Joseph's Parish and the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as president among other volunteer offices. Cathryn and her family moved to Warren in 1960 where they were members of St. Mary's Parish, and she was an active volunteer in St. Mary's fundraising. Cathryn and her husband enjoyed ballroom dancing and card playing.
She is loved and survived by her daughter Barbara (Keith) Johannes of Dana Point, Calif.; two sons, Richard D. (Lyda) Force of Warren, and Ronald D. (Barbara) Force of Deerfield; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Survivors also include her brother, Steve (Marcella) Berletich of Alliance; her sister, MaryAnn (Ed) Brown of Lady Lake, Fla.; and 19 nieces and nephews.
Cathryn's husband, Richard, preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1997, after 58 years of marriage. Her sister, Barbara Muzevich, and brothers John, Nicholas, Frank, George and Mark Berletich also preceded her in death.
Services will be held noon Wednesday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Rev. Christopher Henyk will officiate. Friends may call beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the service time. Entombment will follow in Pineview Memorial Park Mausoleum.
