BOARDMAN - Martha M. Garasky, 84, passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 22, 2012, Thanksgiving, in Vista Center of Boardman.
She was born Jan. 10, 1928, in Warren, the daughter of William and Edna Uitto.
She was employed at Treasure Island as a manager of the domestics department, leaving when the store closed to accept a clerical position with the state of Ohio Department of Welfare. She retired from the department in 1988 after 10 years of service.
Martha belonged to St. Dominic Church, where she had been active in the Cub Scout program and was a member of the Sunshine Group. She was also a member of Harmony Lodge 465 and had served as treasurer of the Eveready Club.
She leaves to treasure her memory her husband, Steve Garasky, whom she married May 13, 1950; her three sons, Jerry (Linda) Garasky of Boardman, Tom (Mary Beth) Garasky of Kirkwood, Mo., and Steve (Michelle) Garasky of Columbia, Md.; and her five grandchildren, Katie, Christie, Martha, Eric and Kimberly Garasky.
Services are 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home in Boardman and 1 p.m. at St. Dominic Church. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
