GIRARD - John Cramer can now take care of some things.
The Salem man found out Wednesday he was the winner of Ohio Lottery Top Prize Drawing for $2 million while he was at Kuzman's Tavern. Friends, family and the Ohio Lottery were waiting there to surprise him.
He says he plans to use the money to help his wife, Rose, and four children, Ciera, 21, John Jr., 16, Jessica, 28, and Tina, 23.
John Cramer, second from left, of Salem, stands outside of Kuzman’s in Girard Wednesday after he received a $2 million check from the Ohio Lottery. Joining him are his daughter, Ciera, left, wife, Rose, second from right, and son John Jr.
Cramer was entered into the drawing after winning a $5,500 cash prize on a $20 Lucky Millionaire instant ticket. His name was pulled out of a pool of 24 other people last week.
Cramer said the news was a surprise to him.
''I was shocked,'' he said.
He said he will keep his job at Aim National Leasing and he took the money in annual payments rather than in a lump sum. His wife knew Monday and was able to keep it a secret until the presentation Wednesday.
''My first thought was it was a scam,'' she said of finding out her husband had won the $2 million. ''Then I got very excited. It's going to do a lot for us.''
