WARREN TOWNSHIP - Two Newton Falls men and one juvenile have been charged in connection with the Sunday morning theft of a handicapped-accessible van from a residence on Meadowbrook Drive.

James Balch, 22, 59 Mahoning Court; William McConnell, 18, 4315 Hallock Young Road; and a 17-year-old male were each charged with complicity to auto theft. Warren Township Police also charged the juvenile with fleeing and eluding police.

Balch and McConnell were taken to the Trumbull County Jail, where McConnell was being held in lieu of $10,000 bond. Balch was freed on a $10,000 bond.

The juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.

Phillip Brady, 35, of 4538 Meadowbrook Drive, told police that he heard his van start up around 6:50 a.m. Sunday. Police, who were in the area at the time, said they pursued the suspects less than a mile before the van struck a water hydrant and utility pole on Burnett Road, severely damaging the van.
