Sun: 5:25 p.m.: Warren man dies at Cleveland hospital after multiple shooting

WARREN Police said a man reported to be involved in a multiple shooting this morning has died at a Cleveland hospital.

City officers said Marco Dukes, 32, of 866 Swallow St., Warren, died at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland shortly after being transported there by helicopter. Another man reported to be involved in the shooting, Larry Smith, 29, 2305 Jackson St. S.W., remained at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where he was being treating for his wounds.

According to reports, gunfire broke out in the area of 166 Elm Court N.E., between Market and High streets, just before 10:30.

Police confirmed they had two men in custody and continued questioning them throughout the evening.

Initially, witnesses reported that possibly four people had been shot. Early on officers said they believed three men were injured.

According to reports, people involved in the gunfire ran northeast between 156 and 164 Elm Road. Police said Smith flagged down a car occupied by two women. The women took him to the hospital, police said.

Officers said they believe more than 40 shots were fired. The home at 166 Elm Court has been roped off with police tape.
