Herold William Hover 1914-2012

WARREN - Herold William Hover, 97, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012.

He was born Nov. 4, 1914, in Williamsfield, the son of Jesse E. Porter and William H. Hover.

He was a 1932 graduate of Kinsman High School and was a resident of Gustavus for most of his life.

Mr. Hover worked as a guard for Valley Mold of Hubbard while working as a mechanic for Ray Logan of Gustavus.

He loved to bowl and bowled twice a week until 2010. He enjoyed fishing in Canada, camping and auto racing.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce A. Byrd of Howland; a son, Stanton L. Hover Sr. of Warren; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hover was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Lillian Emily Bauer, whom he married Jan. 26, 1937; a son, Edwin M. Hover; a sister, Marleah Johnson; a brother, Leroy Hover; and a granddaughter, Sherry Ann Parkinson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, where calling hours will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Gustavus Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
