WARREN - Jean P. Hersman Phillips, 92, passed away Nov. 1, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born April 13, 1920, in Spencer, W.Va., the daughter of Fred and Gatha Hardman Hersman Garvin.
Jean was a long-standing member of New Hope Free Methodist Church in Warren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Sue (John C.) Porter of Warren; a sister, Sybol Brown of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Clyde Hersman of Spencer, W.Va., and Lee Hersman of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and her two Westie grand dogs, Brodie and Brandi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford C. Phillips, who passed away Sept. 5, 1975; sisters, Sally Martin, Kathleen Carr, Rose Stats and Mary Greenlee; and brothers, Bobby Hersman and Smith Hersman.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home with an hour of calling prior to the service. Pastor Ebenezer Appiagyei will be officiating.
The family requests that material contributions be made to New Hope Free Methodist Church in her memory.
