When things go wrong in our nation, we often blame the president -- Democrat or Republican. Right now, President Obama is being blamed for the economic downturn with loss of jobs. How can we blame one person for what has happened? What about the corporations that send jobs overseas to further increase their wealth?
When the second George Bush took office, the Clinton administration had left us with a surplus instead of a deficit. By the time Bush left office, we had two wars. His administration started in Afghanistan and Iraq and a huge deficit. I thought going after the 9/11 attackers was a right thing to do. We always questioned the wisdom of attacking Iraq. They have ended up as the U.S.s longest wars. More soldiers have died there than the number in the 9/11 attack. That does not count Iraq and Afghanistan people.
When Obama was elected, he inherited that deficit, two wars and a recession. Our culture (a fast food culture) wants things done now instead of a.s.a.p. We wanted Obama to wipe out all problems now.
I certainly would not have wanted to be President with all those problems looming. But Obama took the challenge and tried to do what he could.
Did he have the cooperation of Congress? Very little. Then, after two years, the tea party came into existence to resist and stonewall the President. I dont know why they chose that name. The original Boston Tea Party were patriots. Congress was turned into a do-nothing Congress.
How can we blame one man? Aren't we all responsible for what happened to our nation? A divided Congress and a divided nation will certainly fall. If we keep electing do-nothing, negative people to Congress, our nation will really go down.
