Founding Fathers were right

November 2, 2012

DEAR EDITOR:

I was always against the electoral college that was established by our Founding Fathers in the Constitution. They did because, to quote them, ''The masses of people would not be informed enough to choose the president.'' They also did not want the masses to select senators.

After reading the thoughts and not the facts on the candidates or their policies, I am saddened to say that even with all our modern technologies in the communication field, never before were our founders so right.

As you read this letter, Romney is making another small fortune while his company, BAIN, is closing an auto-parts manufacturing company in Bainport, Ill. This company made record profits in 2011 and was heading for even more in 2012, but BAIN and its executives wanted even more so they are moving lock, stock and barrel to China, where they will pay their employees 99 cents per hour.

Do you remember the anti-war rallies of the 70a at universities? At a university in California there was a pro-war demonstration led by a student named Willard Mitt Romney. When his draft number came up, can you guess what he did? He did volunteer, yes sir, first in line for a deferment. What did he do, you ask? Put his mouth where his money is: overseas.

If you or me loved our country, you better believe we would invest in the good old U.S. of A.
