NEWTON FALLS - "Our beloved" Ryan Matthew Matas, 31, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 29, 2012.
Ryan was born on Sept. 6, 1981, in Warren.
He attended the Newton Falls school system, where he loved playing football before graduating with the Class of 2000.

Ryan further advanced his education and graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
His residence was in Salem, where he was employed by CMI Industry Americas Inc. He had gained the respect of his co-workers with his engineering abilities.
Ryan was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and he enjoyed watching the games with his friends. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved fishing, hunting and camping. Ryan loved spending time at his grandparent's farm in southern Ohio, where he especially enjoyed campfires and the fall season with all the brilliant foliage.
He was respected and loved by all his family and friends. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for them, expecting nothing in return.
Ryan will be sadly missed by his parents, Michael and Patricia Matas of Newton Falls; his sister, Kimberly (Patrick) Matas McBride of Bellingham, Wash.; his brother, Michael Matas of Malta; grandmothers, Mary Ann Yenchocic and Frances Matas; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and two special nieces, Makayla and Amelia McBride. Ryan will also be missed by his two loyal dogs, Mocha and Mongo, and his chickens.
Ryan was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Andrew Yenchocic and John Matas.
Ryan will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing his kind-hearted, gentle soul.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Borowski Funeral Home in Newton Falls.
A Mass celebrating Ryan's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary and Joseph Church, 131 Quarry St., Newton Falls.
Ryan will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family requests that material tributes may be made in memory of Ryan to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
