YOUNGSTOWN - President Obama will not make a scheduled campaign stop in Youngstown on Monday but Vice President Joe Biden instead will join former President Bill Clinton at the Covelli Center, the White House announced moments ago.

In light of Hurricane Sandy approaching the east coast, Obama instead will return to the White House following a campaign trip to Orlando, Fla., to monitor the storm, officials said.

The hurricane is forecast to make landfall along the eastern seaboard later Monday.

According to the White House press office, Biden will represent the president, and the event is expected to go on as scheduled. Clinton still is expected to attend.

The president continues to be regularly updated on the storm from FEMA officials and the National Hurricane Director, along with mayors and governors of areas expected to be affected by the storm.
