YOUNGSTOWN - The Board of Control this morning agreed to extend the naming rights for the Covelli Centre for one year.
The board entered into a contract with Covelli Enterprises for $175,000, up from the $125,000 they had been paying.
Mayor Charles Sammarone said the contract is for only one year because the city is in the process of selling or leasing the downtown arena and he wanted a new operator to be able to negotiate for their own rights deal.
