HOWLAND - John Bellando, 78, entered peacefully into rest at 12:27 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center, Warren, following a short illness.
He was born Nov. 6, 1933, the son of Louis and Matilda Bellando, had resided in Warren for the past 73 years, and formerly was of Pennsylvania.
John was a graduate of Howland High School, class of 1952, and was the owner-operator of Su-Jon Enterprises from 1969 to 2012, and the Highland Express LLC from 2009 to 2012.

In his youth, he worked with his father at the Elm Road Shoe Repair Shop and later became a partner with his brother in the Elm Road Tarpaulin Company. Following this, he built and was co-owner of the Crest Lanes Bowling Alley. John also built and was owner of the Suburban Beauty Salon in Champion in 1970.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren and had faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army.
On June 18, 1969, John was united into marriage with the former Billie Sue Rinehart, and they shared 43 years together.
His memory will be remembered and celebrated by those he leaves behind, his wife, Billie Sue Bellando; a son, John Louis Bellando of Columbus; a daughter, Shirley Cheesbro-Wilson of Warren; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Bellando.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren, where visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Officiating will be the Rev. Bernard Schmalzried. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Road S.W., Warren, OH 44481.
