FARMDALE- Marlys Marlene Peters, 66, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Marlys was born on Sept. 14, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Seth T. and LaVerne Pfouts.
Marlys was a 1964 graduate of Lakeview High School. She was previously employed at HK Porter-Peerless Winsmith and in recent years was a homemaker. She was a past member of the Mecca Women of the Moose and the Ali Baba Caldron women. Most of all, she was a very loving and caring wife and grandmother who shared great joy in her children and grandchildren.

She leaves behind her mother, LaVerne J. Pfouts of Cortland; her loving husband, John P. Peters, whom she married April 17, 1991; her daughter, Nanci L. (Robert) Talley-Beaman of Cortland; her sons, Christopher S. Walker of Niles and Michael J. Walker of Johnson; her stepdaughters, Carol (Dale) Kohlmorgan of Portland, Ind., Cathy (Virgil) Brainard of Mesa, Ariz. and Linda (Melvin) Yoder of Mecca; and grandchildren, Codie and Tyler Talley, Mackenzie, Matthew, Joshua, Christopher and Denise Beaman, Brenda Bilyk, Melissa (Jeremey) Archer, Joshua, Christopher and Johnathan Yoder, and Megan (James) Black. She also leaves three great-grandchildren Kylie Archer, Josie Bilyk and Caden Black. She also leaves her brother, Russell L. (Darlene) Pfouts of Cambridge, Minn., and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and many others who called her mom and grandma.
She is preceded in death by her father.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel with a funeral service following at 7 p.m.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
