WARREN - Katherine "Tuddy" Melnick, 88, formerly of New Castle, Pa., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at the Meridian Arms Nursing Center.
Katherine was born Dec. 23, 1923, in New Castle, Pa., the daughter of Andrew and Marie McNamara Pfahles.
She was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren.
Survivors include her son, George A. Melnick of Berlin Center; two brothers, Tom Pfahles and William Pfahles, both of New Castle, Pa.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild
She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Chang" Melnick; three brothers, Andrew, Fred and Phillip Pfahles; and one sister, Virginia Kuhn.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
