WARREN - The suspect in Warren's latest homicide is in jail on a $1.5 million bond.
David Martin, 28, pleaded not guilty this morning to the murder of Jeremy Cole on Sept. 27 in a house at 2220 Oak Circle S.W.
Also in the house was Melissa Putnam, of Warren, who was shot in the hand while trying to protect herself, according to reports. The bullet pierced her hand and ended up in her neck, police said. She has since been released from a local hospital.
Putnam reportedly told detectives that Martin had been in the house before but she didn't know him by name.
Cole's death was the fourth reported homicide in Warren this year and the first since July 15 when a teenage girl was gunned down on Hamilton Street S.W.
