NILES - A $150,000 bond was placed on the Niles man who is accused of stealing a car late Thursday while a child slept in the back seat.
Appearing in Niles Municipal Court this morning, Ross Francis, 42, 162 Robbins Ave., entered no plea to felony charges of kidnapping and theft. He pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and trespassing.
Francis is accused of stealing a 2007 sliver Chevrolet Impala about 11 p.m. Thursday that was parked at 512 John St. The car's owner, Michael Babuka Jr., had parked at the residence with his son, Michael Babuka III, 3, still inside the car.
