Elizabeth A. Cannon

Elizabeth was active all her life and enjoyed tennis, golf and skiing as well as going on long walks. She was a member of the Women's Dental Auxiliary and helped to organize dental hygiene events in the surrounding communities. She was active with many of her high school friends in a monthly "Club" which still meets regularly.

Elizabeth was a charter member of Open Door Community Church in McDonald and served as a Sunday school teacher, VBS director and teacher and sang in the church choir. She loved to sing, and God gifted her with a beautiful voice. Before her illness, Elizabeth enjoyed spending winters in Florida with family and friends. However, her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dr. Richard M. Cannon; her son, Mark T. (Robin) Cannon of Chesapeake, Va.; her daughter, Susan L. (Michael) Taylor of Howland; and four grandchildren, Jessica L. and Rachel A. Cannon, Jacob L. and Natalie E. Taylor.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Open Door Community Church.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Blackstone Funeral Home and also from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

The family requests any material contributions be made to the church memorial fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
