NEWTON FALLS - Erika June Daubenspeck Bates, 39, of Newton Falls, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at University Hospital in Cleveland from acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), with her family at her side.
Erika was born Aug. 9, 1973, in Warren, a daughter of Charles and Karen Stroup Daubenspeck.
She was a 1991 graduate of LaBrae High School, and was employed as a customer service supervisor for nearly 20 years with KraftMaid.

Erika was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Warren.
Erika is survived by her two children, Joshua and Courtney Bates of Newton Falls; her parents, Charles and Karen Daubenspeck of Newton Falls; one brother, Ryan (Jenilee) Daubenspeck of Warren; a half-sister, Cindy (Brien) O'Connell of Toledo; her maternal grandmother, June Stroup of Newton Falls and her companion, Mike Weaver of Burton.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lloyd Stroup; and her paternal grandparents, Truman and Rosemond Daubenspeck.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, with visitation one hour prior at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 140 Cherry St., Warren.
Interment will follow at the Hartford Cemetery in Hartford.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
