A graduate of Jackson High School, Robert joined the U.S. Air Force upon graduation.

After leaving the service, he worked at Union Auto Parts, where he spent 20 years. Later, he went on to work at Wollam Chevrolet as a parts manager for 25 years before his retirement in 1993.

He had several hobbies, including golf, archery, bowling and drag racing, and he was associated with Miller Racing. He belonged to the Cortland Lions Club, Knights of Malta and the Warren Moose Lodge.

His one true passion though was his love for The Ohio State University; he bled scarlet and gray through and through and went as far as to name his beloved dog "Woody."

A kind man, Robert was often seen as a comedian by his friends and family. He was above all a family man who cherished every moment he spent with them.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy; his son Kevin (Theresa) Brown of Cortland; and his daughter, Jacki (Mike) Wajda of Vernon. Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Tonya (Ray) Carpenter of Girard, Michael Wajda of Baltimore, Collins (Katie) Brown of Chicago, Chase Brown of Cleveland and Mckenzie Brown of Fowler; and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Kylie Carpenter.

Robert was preceded in death by his two brothers, Harry Brown and Dale Brown, and his sister, Helen Ward.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday, with a service immediately following at the Grace Fellowship Church, 2150 Niles Cortland Road, Niles, with Kevin Brown officiating the service.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jennifer from Hospice of the Valley and to Mckenzie Brown, for their kindness and compassion. Burial will be Saturday in Dugan Cemetery, Fowler.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Robert's name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
