Sumi DiCenso 1929-2012

WARREN - Sumi "June" DiCenso, 83, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Tokyo, Japan, the daughter of the late Yasohei and Soto Matsuki.

She came to Warren on Dec. 31, 1955, and retired from Trumbull Memorial Hospital as a housekeeping supervisor after 21 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Vincent DiCenso; two children, Nora DiCenso of Warren and Elisa (Ernest) Long of Champion; four grandchildren, Amanda, David, Brandi Long and Ernest Long Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Rayna, Rylie and Gemma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Summer Enrichment Program for Handicapped Children, c/o 2202 Niles Cortland Road, Cortland, OH 44410.
