WARREN - An elderly Washington Street N.E. couple was beaten in their home late Tuesday by a trio of attackers wearing masks, according to police.

Raymond Pierce, 80 and his wife Jeanne Pierce, 70, both of 171 Washington St. N.E., were each taken to a hospital following the attack at their home about 11:30 p.m.

Police were called to the home, which is attached to 169 Washington St. N.E., for a report of three men on the front porch with masks. When they got there, they found Jeanne Pierce on the porch bleeding heavily from the face, at one point almost passing out.

Raymond Pierce said he was laying in bed when the men walked into his room and hit him with several times.
