WARREN - Cora Elizabeth Deerfield, 92, died Saturday evening, Sept. 29, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, W.Va.
She was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Gassaway, W.Va., the daughter of the late Louie and Filomena Torchio Nardella. She and her husband had lived in Warren for many years.
Cora was the owner of Cora's Beauty Shop on East Market Street in Warren for more than 50 years until her retirement. Since that time, she has spent several years with her daughter in Vienna, W.Va.
She enjoyed country music and going to flea markets and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Her husband, Ford Henry Deerfield, whom she married Oct. 19, 1940, preceded her in death May 12, 1996.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Beane of Vienna, W.Va., and Carol Ann (Greg) Drake of Pinellas Park, Fla.; four grandchildren, Judge J.D. Beane of Parkersburg, Dr. David J. (Carrie) Beane and Dr. Michael E. Beane, both of Vienna, W.Va., and Todd Friend of Riverview, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Nick and Jenna Beane; a brother, Gerald (Ruth) Nardella of Palm Harbor, Fla.; three sisters, Eloise (Coen) Jones of Vienna, W.Va., Rose Vaughan of Safety Harbor, Fla., and Jeanette Stanley of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Grethel Nardella of Gassaway; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Angelo, Carl and Ernie Nardella, and a sister, Ida Nardella.
The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 12:30 to the time of service Friday.
Entombment will be in the Pineview Memorial Park mausoleum.
