YOUNGSTOWN - A man wanted in a March homicide was arrested Friday.
Members of the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Walter Douglas Walker, 30, in Warren after he was indicted by a Mahoning County Common Pleas grand jury Thursday on charges of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.
He is accused of killing 34-year-old Damon Hodges and wounding 25-year-old Dustin Greenwalt. They were found shot following a March 10 robbery at a 114 N. Lane Ave. home on the East Side.
Police said Greenwalt, who was shot twice, fought off his attacker and walked away.
Detective Sgt. David Sweeney, lead investigator on the case, said investigators linked Walker to the crime through DNA tests.
Sweeney said Walker was not a suspect until the DNA test results came back recently. He declined to say what, if anything, was taken during the robbery.
Court records show Walker pleaded guilty to a trafficking in cocaine charge in 2008 and was placed on a community control sentence.
