LIBERTY - Anne Buckley, 81, rejoined her beloved God and Savior on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012. Anne suffered through a long and difficult illness, cared for by those who loved her most to the very end.
She was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Youngstown.
Anne received her education from the old St. Ann School, the Ursuline High School class of 1948 and attended Youngstown College. Anne taught the children of Holy Family and St. Charles.

She married her high school love, Dr. John Buckley, on April 24, 1954, and recently celebrated 58 years together.
Anne cheerfully endured the long years of her husband's medical school and residency with four young children at her knee.
She was a member of the Junior Guild, partook of the planning and execution of the original St. Elizabeth Hospital Charity Balls, and was a long member of the Angels for Easter Seals, Stambaugh Pillars, Youngstown Country Club and St. Edward Church.
Anne's family was her life.
Those left to remember her love are her husband, Dr. John Sr.; a son, Dr. John (Margaret) Buckley Jr.; and three daughters, Joy (Robert) Vanes, Colleen (Timothy) Glaab and Mollie (Philip) Sekola, all of Youngstown; and a brother, Thomas Finnerty of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren, Dr. Kaila, John and Meghan Buckley, Capt. Daniel (Mindy) Vanes, USMC, Colleen and Michael Vanes, Dr. Jonathan, Erin and Kelly Glaab, and Sean, Colin, Kate and Caroline Sekola. Anne and John also long cared for two Christian children, Bualia of Uganda and Jose of Guatemala.
She also leaves a sister-in-law, Mary Kay (Dr. Frank) D'Isa of Youngstown; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Charles (Margaret) Buckley of Potomac, Md.; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She joins her parents, George "Cotton" Finnerty and Mary Howe Finnerty; her sister, Dorothy Bloom; and her brothers, Dr. George Jr., Robert and John.
The family requests that Anne be remembered by a donation to the Beatitude House for homeless women and children, 238 Tod Lane, Youngstown, OH 44504, or the family scholarship fund at Ursuline High Scholl, 750 Wick Avenue, Youngstown, OH 44505, for students in need.
A prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Edward Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
