WARREN - Betty Jean Shafer, 81, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at the Community Skilled Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Warren, the daughter of Frank and Estella Abbott Nellis.
Betty is survived by her two sons, Vaughn Shafer of Warren and Donald (Sharon) Shafer of Spring, Texas; a daughter Cheryl (Neil) Robertson of Duncansville, Pa., seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Shafer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at Wildare United Methodist Church 7211 N. Park Ext., Cortland.
Services were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren.
